Description

USAT Sanctioned Event by USAT Certified Race Director. Race #3 of the Alamo Tri Series. This is a sprint distance triathlon at the River Ranch Ski Community. The swim is in a ski lake with clear water and easy to navigate. The bike has a few rolling hills and the run is mostly flat. An excellent triathlon for beginners and for veterans to blaze the course.

Course Info

Swim: 400m Swim time trail starts by age group . Water temp estimate. 75-80.
Bike: 24.5K Bike, out and back on country roads No drafting.
Run: 5K Run Flat, loop course on pavement.

* We reserve the Fat Tire division for anyone who is doing the event with a tire with big fat wide tires (i.e. a mountain bike). Those that compete on a mountain bike are at a distinct disadvantage competing against the ultra-thin racing tires found on modern road bikes; so we created a division just for those fine folks who want to tackle our courses on mountain bikes. If you are competing with a "Fat Tire" then it is your choice which division to compete in, Fat Tire or Age Group. Everyone in the Fat Tire division must have fat tires on their bicycle. The Fat Tire division only awards the top thre athletes male/female.

Fee Schedule:

Early registration is until June 10th. Starting June 11th registation fee will be increased in each catagory. No Refunds. No Transfers after June 10th.

No race day registration.

T-shirts: Tech Ts will available for all early sign ups before June 10th. Starting on this date, extra cotton shirts will be ordered but late sign ups will not be guaranteed a shirt.

Must show USAT member card and photo ID at packet pick-up. All relay members must come pick up packet together.

USAT Age is determined by what age you are on Dec 31 2010.

$10 USAT one day permit, payable at packet pickup only. Do not send USAT permit fee with entry fee. No race day registration.

Directions
Race Site, San Marcos River Ranch: From IH35, Exit Number 204/Hwy 123, Travel approximately .25 mile and turn North on Hwy 621/Staples Rd. Then travel East approximately 3.5 miles to Scull Rd, turn left/North on Scull Rd.Look for signs.

Race Instructions:

Park inside the park as directed…………
The race is chip timed: timing chips are available race morning at the pavilion.
Check-in/Body marking starts at 5:30AM.
Before you enter the transition area you must have your race number and be body marked.
Please firmly attach the bike number to your bike. You will not be allowed to remove your bike from the transition area without matching your bike number with your bib number or body marking number.
Awards shortly after the last person has finished.
Race Day Packet pickup 5:30AM-6:45AM, $10 additional cash or check only.
